This is how I started out on lead guitar back in 1970, although I hadn’t heard the term “boxes”, it was just a fingering pattern I stumbled on that sounded like rock & roll. Only recently have I heard it called the Albert King box. At first I played blues and rock leads just out of this box and later got into all the different scales, but I’ve always just figured stuff out from these patterns and made stuff up because I’ve never been any good at all at learning anything by ear. Way to lazy to work at copying other guitar players licks note for note. But it you accuse me of sounding like Albert King sometimes, well, duh, if you ain’t sounding like Albert King you ain’t playing.

My amp settings are very similar to what they were for my Fender Blues Junior Amp Demo video, and for this lesson I had my PQ-3b pedal engaged the entire time.
