Anthony…the question of tuning seems to come up a lot (i know i have bugged you with several questions on the matter)… Is there any chance we could get a tuning lesson or podcast in the near future? I have found multiple different methods of tuning on the internet and it can get pretty confusing.

Anthony Stauffer ( StevieSnacks Teacher ) reply on April 30th, 2008:
Hi Jim,
I’m just tuned down 1/2 step on all strings. I play through my open strings before I get into the lesson. You’re just lowering the pitch of each string a little bit, but the relative tuning of each string to the next one is the same.

Hi Stevie!
I’m a long time guitar player but I’ve “grown up” on the guitar by mostly playing hardrock and metal. I started playing Blues about 2 years ago. Now I stumbled across your page after I watched one of your videos at YouTube.
I checked out a couple of your free lesseons and I REALLY like the way you show how to play those blues licks. Even watching the “Beginners Lesson” is still interesting to me since I have reached a point where I don’t get much improvement by improvising, so I needed a little new inspiration to get going again, to improve my usage of the “Blues Boxes” (Blues Scales) and I just wanted to say thanks for your free lessons!! I’m the kind a guy who doesn’t like practicing scales for hours, I love to practice by playing cool sounding licks, implementing them in my songs and then experimenting with them. Your videos help a lot and I really appreciate that you offer short lessons for free!! THANK YOU!!!
Kind regards,
Dee,
Germany

Hello from the US Dee,
I get quite a few viewers from Germany, land of my ancestors (there and Switzerland). You and I share a disinterest in scales, I too much prefer practicing things that I actually play. I guess for this style of music you can get away with that, but try doing that with classical music

Anthony, awesome website. Love the lessons. My playing is really coming along with your help. SRV has always been my musical inspiration since the i first heard Texas Flood back in ‘86. Just wondering, where can i get the backing track for this lesson.
