New Series: E-Flat Blues Stomp

Today I’m putting out the first in a new series of lessons called “E-Flat Blues Stomp”. In my last free lesson “Playing With Soul - Part 7″, I played a mean sounding blues jam in E-Flat at the beginning, and it seemed that people were interested in learning it.

I have to be honest, that was kind of a fishing experiment on my part. I wanted to see if the song would generate any interest before I started making the lessons, so once that was confirmed, I went ahead and created the first lesson in the series.

The first lesson teaches the core rhythm that the entire song is based around. Future lessons in this series will mix in more soloing with this rhythm, building in complexity. The first lesson is 36 minutes long and the pace is quite slow and detailed because there’s a lot that goes into making this sound the way it does.

So what about Essential Techniques?

I had originally planned on quickly putting together the Essential Techniques series by the end of June, but after collecting a lot of great feedback from people, I realized that I wanted to do a bit more planning on these lessons in order to make them as effective as possible.

As it turns out, StevieSnacks will be my full-time job starting in August, and I’ve decided to wait until then to start recording the lessons because this is one series that I don’t want to compromise on. I’ll have much more time to plan out all the aspects of these lessons, which will result in a much tighter series, and much more applicable lessons.

I hope you enjoy the new series, I look forward to adding more lessons to it over the summer months.
