It’s been a while since the last release of premium lessons. “Love Again” and “Breakneck Pace” were added to the SRV Style Solo Matrix in December, but now it’s almost May.

Some of you have asked why it is taking so long for new premium lessons to be released. Well, let’s talk about that….

The Move

In February I stumbled onto some office space that solved one of my biggest problems. Since mid-2011 I’ve been working in an office in downtown State College. The neighboring offices were occupied by Navy Recruiters, a photographer and several yoga studios. These offices were not very soundproof, and I had to work at extremely low volumes.

The AxeTrak Isolation Cabinet came to my rescue, and I worked happily in the office for almost two years. But as time went on, as sales increased, I began to get restless. I wanted to crank up and rock out. The volume constraints were beginning to limit the quality of products I could produce.

Then I found this new space and fell in love. It is an isolated building, (no neighboring offices), and way more space than I need. Finding, researching, signing for, and moving into this new studio has taken up a lot of my time since February.

New Solo Matrix Lessons

I will add six more song styles to the SRV Style Solo Matrix this year. I am shooting all of these lessons at once, which makes the process take longer at the beginning, but drastically improves my ability to properly advertise those lessons as they roll out over the rest of this year.

New Song Styles

  • Whisky, Wine & Gin - in the style of Tin Pan Alley
  • Stranded - in the style of Crossfire
  • The Weather - in the style of Couldn’t Stand The Weather
  • Shooting Cold - in the style of Cold Shot
  • Fly On - in the style of Little Wing
  • Slight Return - in the style of Voodoo Child (slight return)

At the time of this writing, I’m almost at the point where I can start shooting the demonstrations. The solo demonstrations are what each lesson is based off of. It is extremely important to me that they be played well, and sound great.

I’m taking my time with these lessons because I want to enjoy the process and not just rush the lessons out the door.

Timeline

So with the new office move behind me, work on the new lessons is in full swing. The first two song styles will probably be released near the end of May. The next two in August, and the last set in November. These will be the best lessons I’ve ever done, and you’re gonna get a workout grin
