Anthony,
Nice playing, great sound! I ordered a set of the 60’s pickups for one of my guitars-I am very happy with them..sound awesome. What gauge strings are you using on the guitar in this demo?
Anthony made a comment about the neck on this particular guitar. Just to clarify about that neck, it is a medium C profile neck. It’s a little bit thicker than a 62 RI Strat. But it is not as thick as an SRV sig. I’ve probably shipped over 300 guitars with this neck and have had only 3 people I know of (Anthony being one of them) who felt it was a little on the meaty side. It really isn’t that big. Just a matter of preference. Seems like overall people have been very happy with the size of this particular neck. I’ve gotten comment after comment from customers who have felt it was the best neck they’ve played. Because of that it’s become my main neck. There are lots of options on necks but I honestly feel that this is the best neck available for a Strat. Not too thin, not too fat, 6105 frets (great for bending) and the tone transmission is great.
Anyways, Don hope that helps answer your question.

Rocketfire Guitars
Hey! Love the site and your instructions! I stumbled upon you on Youtube a few days ago, and your 5 boxes is exactly what i needed to break out of my years long blues plateau i have been stuck on. Im 45 and have been playing since i was 14, but have felt frustratingly stuck in playing the same blues licks for years. Thank you! Question, the middle tune you play in the Rocketfire demo (when you are talking about the worn body…) killer stuff, what is it?? Your own song? If I could whip that one out at parties I would rule!
Thanks again and cheers.. Love the site. Brian B
I BOUGHT A SET OF THESE PICKUPS WELL BALANCED AND GET GREAT TONE. I LIKE THEM OVER MY FRALINS.
GREAT VIDEO AND GUITAR PLAYING MAYBE COMPARE A FEW PICKUPS LIKE U DID WITH THE PEDALS WHICH WAS GREAT
THANKS ANTHONY !
Last year i bought one of Nicks Guitars and have never been happier with an instrument in my life. I own 4 Strats including an SRV signature. I was so impressed by my new guitar that i replaced the pickups in my SRV with Nicks pickups he makes. He is great to work with and can do virtually any thing you want when it comes to the vintage look. I would also love to thank Anthony Stauffer for the demo and love your website.
Another cool demo. I coming here more often to see what you’ve updated or tested. I wish I was able to do what you do. Have you ever tried Lace Sensor pups? I’m sure some of us would like to hear your opinion.
I’ve used them in guitars. While they’re dead silent, they’re not to my ears what a Strat ’should’ sound like. I think they’re one of the first noiseless single coils (been around for about 15-20 years I think). So I’d say that’s probably break through technology for Mr. Lace. Eric Clapton used to have them in his signature line. To my ears they’re a bit sterile sounding compared to something with pole pieces. I think that’s probably why EC went to a different noiseless pickup.
In my opinion noiseless pickups aren’t the best solution for a Strat. It’s a coil through a noise canceling coil which will ALWAYS alter the tone. There are lots of good pickups on the market. Some people have done well with noiseless stuff simply because they can make anything sound great! But from a tone only perspective, find something with AlNiCo 5 Magnets, Formvar wire, and of course………. a natural amount of single coil hum.
Anthony - great demo, awesome guitar! I particularly enjoyed the riffs (tone) played starting at 2:40 and ending at 3:48 in the video. You wouldn’t by chance part with the backing track? Really enjoy your site.
Real nice demo! I noticed that you said something about the neck being wider than what you’re use to since you have small hands. I also have small hands. Do I have to get my neck custom or can I buy one for my small hands? One more question . . . is the regular Blues Jr amp just as good as the Tweed NOS version? Your work here is much appreciated.
I just bought a Tweed NOS and I found out what the difference was. Im still curious about your comment about the guitar neck though. I bought the whole set of Essential Licks, I cant wait to try them out on my new amp!
Very nice demo! I’m curious how these guitars compare to the Danocasters, which have mindblowing relic work and I’ve heard great things about their sound also.
Thanks Anthony for the publicity and thanks Mike for being willing to do this for me without ever even mentioning it! You guys are great. Enjoy the guitar Mike!
And Anthony!!! Wow! Too bad my internet is so slow. I’d love to watch the video in action. Awesome of you to do this. Maybe on a good day this thing will load up. I’d love to hear it!!
Talk to you soon,

Nick:
I heard you say that the neck was bigger than what you are used, to. What size neck is it, contour, nutwidth, etc., and what do you usually play?

Anthony, (Mike & Nick)
Great tone! In the last clip you sound a lot like Ronnie Earl, one of my faves!
Did you use your standard amp and pedals on those clips in the video?
Does the RocketFire have Nick’s pickups in it?
Best regards,
Steve
