HD Video Sample

Here’s a 1 minute sample of the HD video I sell for certain lessons in the Lesson Download Store. Right now the resolution if 960×540, which is less than true HD, but I want to see how it is recieved before I start publishing full 720p lessons.

Let me know what you think!

I think it’s awsome. With the HD it will be easier to follow your fingering. Can we by HD dVD’s from your Site?

Anthony Stauffer ( StevieSnacks Teacher ) reply on July 16th, 2008:

The DVDs that I do have are standard DVD resolution, so the HD download lessons are actually higher quality, but some people prefer to watch on the TV rather than the computer. However, as soon as my publisher offers Blue Ray Support, I will be offering these on Blue Ray DVD as soon as I can.

    Hi Carlos,
I’ve moved the video to a faster server, please try again and see if it plays for you now.

Hi - I’ve tried downloading your HD video sample several times tonight. I get excellent sound, but the video displays as a series of still photos…does not move smoothly like a movie, sometimes doesn’t move at all.

Upgraded my Quicktime to 7.5 for XP SP2, doesn’t solve the problem.

I’d like to pay to download a bunch of your lessons, but I have no confidence I’ll be able to see them properly.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Anthony Stauffer ( StevieSnacks Teacher ) reply on July 5th, 2008:

    Hi Bob,

Thanks for trying the video sample before purchasing, that’s what it’s here for. There are a bunch of resources over at Apple’s support site for people with iTunes and Quicktime issues on Windows. Here’s a link to the discussion page for iTunes:

    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=150

    and Quicktime

    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=943

Please feel free to email me directly with information about your computer and I’ll see if there’s anything I can do to assist you with this problem. Please don’t purchase any downloads until we can get this working.

    Thanks,
    Anthony

    Wow,
Great quality video and the overlays are a nice touch. What’s up with that backdrop? That short sheet’s distracting. Well, you almost pulled it off flawlessly.
I’m hoping the HD videos will convert to ipod, but as long as the audio is clear they’ll be fine. Great to listen to during those long commutes.
    Thanks again!

Anthony Stauffer ( StevieSnacks Teacher ) reply on June 8th, 2008:

I’m testing people’s ability to focus :) I should really replace this clip. The HD videos will certainly convert to iPod in itunes, I’ve know of several viewers who do it already. I also provide with each purchased lesson, a smaller resolution video that should work on the iPod or convert more quickly.

    Hi Anthony,

Your lessons are awesome. I’m 44 years old and played some blues when I was in my twenties. I did’nt play for almost twenty years and found your lessons on youtube. After following your lessons for a few weeks I play better and finally understand the fretboard better than before. Plus I learn to play the riffs of my most favorite guitar player, which I wasn’t able to figure out 20 years ago.

    Keep up the good work.

    Sincerely,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Awesome to hear that you’re back on the strings :) Glad my lessons can help out..

    Very Cool

    This is bad.

You have just upped the level for all other instructional web sites.
Now they will have to go back and rerecord all their “stuff” in order to keep up with you.
You have officially gone out and done a better job than anyone else…

It’s great that you show all the equipment needed to make the complete music package.
Only request… Can you please replace or recommend different pedals in your setup.
It’s really challenging to read/hear that the pedals are “old/discontinued”.
It makes the tone chasing too seem impossible, where showing someone you have an available
amp leads us to believe we “may” be able to duplicate your tone.

Thanks for the overachieving videos and instructions.

    Johnny

Anthony Stauffer ( StevieSnacks Teacher ) reply on May 2nd, 2008:

Until you suggested it, it had not crossed my mind one time how frustrating it must be to hear someone give a gear demo using gear that’s not made any more…..

That’s really embarassing. I think I need to start shopping for “in-production” pedals now.

Thanks, you just cost me probably $300…. :)

John reply on June 21st, 2008:

The sound clips on the Barber Electronics site (LTD pedal, in particular) are pretty impressive, and the barber pedals are not outrageously priced either.

Anthony Stauffer ( StevieSnacks Teacher ) reply on April 18th, 2008:

Yeah…..the things you notice after you’ve already shot the video……. iTunes can convert the video to iPod format, and each lesson in the store also includes a “small” version of the video which should convert to iPod much faster.

  15. maury Says:

can I down load the HD full lesson in linux? (ubuntu fiesty fawn)

  16. Anthony Stauffer ( StevieSnacks Teacher ) Says:

I can’t believe nobody has commented so far on my complete inability to get that stupid sheet the whole way across the backdrop. I think there’s been something showing through everytime I’ve used it. Really got to check these things before I shoot…..

Mike Peddle reply on June 30th, 2008:

I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out.

No Worries, these lesson I wasn’t focusing in on specific riffs, but the old camera angle will make it’s return as I explore each box in detail.
